I hope you’re all doing great and had a more relaxing holiday season than I did. I wanted to share a personal situation with you, one that’s been a rollercoaster of emotions but has also reminded me just how much our furry friends mean to us.

It’s about one of my dogs, Mione. She’s been my loyal companion for years now, and we’ve been through a lot together. This holiday season, though, things took an unexpected turn. Mione got diagnosed with pyometra, a pretty serious infection that required us to rush her to emergency surgery. Talk about a holiday surprise, right?

Now, here’s where it gets complicated. During her surgery, the vets faced a tough challenge. They couldn’t completely remove her right ovary because of abdominal adhesions. For those who don’t know, adhesions can happen due to early childhood trauma. We rescued Mione when she was around 4-5 months old, and it’s heart-wrenching to think she might have gone through something traumatic before finding her forever home with us.

As if that wasn’t enough, the post-surgery care at the hospital wasn’t great. They put her on a heating pad, which unfortunately caused third-degree burns on the entire back side of her neck. It’s going to take months for her to fully recover, and my daily routine now includes visits to the vet for dressing changes. It’s tough to see her in this condition, but we’re getting through it, one day at a time. Despite all these challenges, I’m grateful. Grateful for having a job that not only helps me provide the best medical care possible for Mione but also offers the flexibility to juggle work and personal life. It’s a blessing to be able to care for her without compromising my professional responsibilities.

This holiday season wasn’t the relaxing break I was hoping for, but it was still a time away from the usual hustle. It gave me a chance to reflect on what’s truly important – the well-being and happiness of those we love, be it humans or pets.

It’s been a tough time, but we’re tackling each day with hope and lots of cuddles. I’ll keep you all posted on her recovery journey. Send some good vibes our way!

Until next time! ❤️
